Swachh Bharat : Swachh Vidyalaya is the national campaign driving ‘Clean India : Clean Schools’. A key feature of the campaign is to ensure that every school in India has a set of functioning and well maintained water, sanitation and hygiene facilities.

The two-day Maha Swachhta Abhiyan, which spread the message of ‘Ek Kadam Swachhata Ki Or’, witnessed massive participation across the country. To the prime minister’s initiation the entire nation took the responsibility seriously and valued the purpose and our institutes walls was filled with the hundreds of drawing by students with novel ideas of sawach bharat through their artworks. The drawings were not only impressive on their account of abstraction and visualization but also on being reflective of the innocence and inherent natural talent of our students.

The students and the community has come together and worked towards the one goal, clean community and cleaner nations.

The Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan which was launched to aims at solving the sanitation problem and waste management in India by ensuring hygiene across the country. The prime objective of the mission is to create sanitation facilities for all and understanding that the idea of a clean nation is nation’s responsibility not the somatization’s staff or government’s. The Prime Minister has rightly asserted that Swachh Bharat Abhiyan should be a combined effort of both the Government as well as the people. So, as institution is was our bound duty to make sure that this campaign is a success. This time alone with the nation we were ready to turn all the stones rather than waiting for the government to make it one.

The Pledge:_-“I will remain committed towards cleanliness and devote time for this.
I will devote 100 hours per year, that is two hours per week, to voluntarily work for cleanliness. I will neither litter not let others litter. I will initiate the quest for cleanliness with myself, my family, my locality, my village and my work place”.
So we broke the message down to the small and more practical step to support the cause:-

  1. Students should strive to keep their house, neighbourhood, school clean by not littering.
  2. They can make sure that their families don’t throw away waste in public places.
  3. Leaving the school and home toilets clean and public cleaner.
  4. Besides, students can organize cleanliness/awareness drive in their locality by urging the neighbours to use public waste disposal systems or generate funds to create/maintain a waste disposal location in their locality. They can very well help in maintaining such locations.

There can be no better ambassadors of such a noble cause than students. Afterall they are the future.
Under the such inspiring buzz the group with all its institution ran two weeks longer “clean neighbourhood” drive where each day our group of volunteers and students will devote the time and energy to this cause.
