The “Karma Devi Group” proudly announce the launch of its first state-of-the-art Community Radio Station- ‘Omni Radio’. The 24 hours radio will cover over 15 kilometres, covering from thick populated areas to quite green village and its rural population. The radio will primary be run by its students under the guidance of a well experience team with 15 years of experience in broadcasting.

‘Omni Radio’ intends to cater to health, educational, environmental, community development, culture and social welfare, scientific awareness, civic & social issues, and other significant matters. However, the idea is just not to stop here but must create a buzz and initiate a drive to revive and refashion the folk music, re-spark the nativity of the place, reintroduce the music of the soul, the song of the lands.

Community radio will be run by the member of the community, the young once, the rebellious, the innovative once, the creative once and we also intend to collaborate with the local heroes and the mothers who can share recipes and the fathers who can inspire. The singers who are still humming the folk tunes and the farmers sharing the tricks of the tread.

With the ever changing fast-paced world we have been changing and working hard to fit in, rushing to be more acceptable without realising that the loss is much higher and surly not worth compromising the individuality. This is the time when we should rediscover and rekindle with all faded in the race of global gain.

The radio station has its own broadcasting, production and recording facilities as well as transmission.

What is Community Radio– Community radio is a radio service offering a third model of radio broadcasting in addition to commercial and public broadcasting. Community stations serve geographic communities and communities of interest. They broadcast content that is popular and relevant to a local, specific audience but is often overlooked by commercial or mass-media broadcasters. Community radio stations are operated, owned, and influenced by the communities they serve. They are generally non-profit and provide a mechanism for enabling individuals, groups, and communities to tell their own stories, to share experiences and, in a media-rich world, to become creators and contributors of media.

We are truly fortunate to have Mr. Brain Thaisen as our consulting Director, who has worked in some of the biggest networks in the world such as B.B.C. and SKY and has years of experience in the field of broadcasting.
